Miami Spice and Nice

Bevelyn, I think I'm incapable of typing Miami without Vice next to it. Seriously, it's like deep in my psyche. Anyway, remember this skirt? It's still alive! And I still love it!

Jcrew crew neck tee, Skirt a special find from the Brooklyn Flea market and yellow sandals from Aldo

I'M SO HAPPY I'M IN CALI! YEAY!

Greetings from Sonoma

Yes, I am holding strawberries. S'natural.

Photos by Fran

Well Bobo, Fran and I took a post-MCAT celebratory road trip to Sonoma. I wish I could write more, but I can't seem to think. Miss you buddy, we should take a road trip somewhere!

Tropical Wall Flower

Bevelyn, this shirt is so pretty, I've had it hung on my wall so I can stare at it. It's a burst of tropical plant life and I'm all about tropical plant life.

If you thought I was kidding about being all about tropical plant life, check out my door mat. Yes, I'm serious.

Leopard Print Pimp

Rockin my dad's ring on my middle finger

A bee! They still exist!

I bought these shoes in Florence 9 years ago. Handmade son!

Well Bobo, I bought this dress on my camel toe infested Black and Brown spree. This is my first leopard (why is this word so hard to spell) print purchase. It's official, I am a pimp now.

Just say no to jumpers

Well Bobo, I made a trip over to black and brown to look for some summer clothes (visit girl crush), and found some interesting things.

1) Things that look cool on a hanger that should never go on my body:
A.  Jumpers. I tried on these two jumpers because I was feeling adventurous. I didn't have any jumpers in my wardrobe so hey, why not? Go crazy! Try something new!

EXTREME CAMEL TOE. Ah yes, this is why I don't have jumpers.

B. This made me look like a Spanish gigolo.

2) I'm still trying to decide on this dress. I have been longing for 90's contempo casuals type floral dresses. What say you?

Booty Shawts

Well bobo, it has gotten so crazy hot around here (hitting the 90's). You know what this means for me, booty shawts time! Whenever I wear them, this completely vile but amazing song pops into my head to prep me for the world. Warning, if you get easily offended, don't click on the link below. Actually, even if it takes a lot for you to get offended, proceed with caution. I warned you.

Appropriately coupled with my booty shawts is my mom's 30 year old flower top from Japan. I'm never giving it back.

Spring Fling in My Closet

Oh hey Bevelyn. Guess what? I've been wearing clothes. And taking cell phone pictures. Here are some of them -
I wore this outfit on a cool spring day and man, I felt like a pimp. It has all of my favorite things:  leopard, hot pink, fuzzy warmth, clean lines and classic pieces, aka the mens oxford shirt and slim black  legging pant things. It made me happy and kept me warm but bright = success! Another angle below:

This was another transition time outfit - topshop dress + grey leggings + striped oxfords and my trusty cropped leather jacket = cool (but really warm) success.

This was my sunday brunch outfit - striped midi length dress + hot pink sweater + crazy cheese right before I proceeded to sit on the couch for four hours straight and get a little sweaty.

This is what I wore today! It's totally inspired by my inner suburban mom from the 60s. It's disgustingly jcrew, from head to ankle, and blue velvet loafers are from Urban.
Who the hell knew I liked hot pink this much? I did, I guess. Haha.

Last but not least - this is my version of grandma chic. My trusty red skirt, grey sweatshirt, camel jacket and some colorful accessories. Also felt very cool in a grandmotherly way in this outfit. Worked for me! Now, I'm going to go to bed at 9:22 PM on a Friday night, because I don't just dress grandmotherly cool, I LIVE IT! That's right!

Here is my bum.

Photos by Bobo
Well Bobo, it's been a while since I have posted because MCAT studying is taking over my life (under a month until test date). Like a cheap F21 top, it was cute and interesting initially but now it's just taking up space in my life, and I want it to go the F away.

These pictures are from our magical photo shoot at the dump, and I just remembered how happy this shirt makes me. I love this true red color! The purse is my mom's old purse, one of the countless items I have stolen from her. In my next post, I will show you a floral top that I swiped from her quick like a ninja.

Spring and Stripes

Check out the polka dots behind me!

*Outfit details: Pants - Zaras, Shirt - Uniqlo, Jacket - Gap, Shoes -Sperry Topsiders

I made Umar take a picture of my tote especially because I WON it at the Brooklyn Book Festival last year, in a raffle draw. I never win shit but I won this damn tote!!

Well Bevelyn, it was nice chatting with your face today. I decided to take some cell phone pics and upload them without doing anything to them cuz I'm really f-ing lazy and that's all there is to it. Also, I'm watching a documentary on Gloria Steinem and about to eat some asparagus and boiled eggs. I know you wanted to know that.

A Tale of Two Dresses

Bevelyn, I have a dress crush. See below:

Is this not stunning?! I love how it can be dressed up and down, the simple color blocking, how it hints of late spring, summertime and that lovely key hole detail. *sigh* It's from a brand called Emerson Fry that I had not heard of till recently but they make the most amazing clothing. Did I mention it's almost $400. Yeah.

And then there's dress crush #2:
This dress is from Jcrew and a cool $350. As always, I'm obsessed with the length and the print and cinched waist detail keeps it classy and fun.

So amidst all these dress crushes, I happened upon Old Navy's website and what do I find? A reasonably priced yet very pretty dress to soothe my dress woes!
It has the key hole detail, color blocking and a pretty asymmetrical hemline! I can't wait to wear it with some strappy flats and maybe my cropped leather jacket. And it was only $30. Score!

The in-between times

Photos by my mom
Well Bobo, in a time where all I seem to do is study for the MCAT, become a crossfit obsessed savage, and eat like a cave woman, I have these pants to look forward to. Just look at how bright they are. Like a blueshifted star (this simile is a direct result of my studies).
