A Tale of Two Dresses

Bevelyn, I have a dress crush. See below:

Is this not stunning?! I love how it can be dressed up and down, the simple color blocking, how it hints of late spring, summertime and that lovely key hole detail. *sigh* It's from a brand called Emerson Fry that I had not heard of till recently but they make the most amazing clothing. Did I mention it's almost $400. Yeah.

And then there's dress crush #2:
This dress is from Jcrew and a cool $350. As always, I'm obsessed with the length and the print and cinched waist detail keeps it classy and fun.

So amidst all these dress crushes, I happened upon Old Navy's website and what do I find? A reasonably priced yet very pretty dress to soothe my dress woes!
It has the key hole detail, color blocking and a pretty asymmetrical hemline! I can't wait to wear it with some strappy flats and maybe my cropped leather jacket. And it was only $30. Score!

The in-between times

Photos by my mom
Well Bobo, in a time where all I seem to do is study for the MCAT, become a crossfit obsessed savage, and eat like a cave woman, I have these pants to look forward to. Just look at how bright they are. Like a blueshifted star (this simile is a direct result of my studies).

Flower Pants, Meet Spring!

I'm sooo happy I got these pants even though they were a bit more than I would have liked to pay (I like deals dammit!) This was the last outfit I frolicked in at the DUMP. I also wore them to work the other day when it was particularly warm..pictures to come shortly.

Shirt: Thrifted Gap, Pants: Zaras, Shoes: Thrifted

I almost gave these shoes to my sister because they're a bit tight on my feet but I ended up wearing them so much while I was visiting Cali, I rescinded my offer. One of the advantages of having sisters - you can give them a gift and then take it back.

All Pink Everything (and also black)

How high can I get my bun?

Photos by Bobo
Well Bobo, another addition to our very fancy photo shoot collection. The second picture reminds me of the Beatles album, Abbey Road.  In the picture after that, it looks like I am about to get murdered by a mysterious figure in the back. There is just so much character, so much magic.

Solange Love

Bevelyn, how much do we love Solange's style?
I got especially excited just now because I came across this picture where she's sporting the same colors as me!
And more Solange eye candy because she's one of my all time girl crushes:

P.s. I'm getting yellow pumps.

HOW COOL IS SHE?! For ultimate eye-candy/style-spiration, check this amazing slide show out. I wanted to add every image. She's so fresh, natural but endlessly quirky. She manages to mix tribal with preppy, structured with flowy, and BAD with ASS!

Miraculous

Well bobo, I went shopping today. This is miracle # 1 because you know how much I physically hate going shopping. Miracle # 2: I bought something: bright blue pants! I was so close to not buying them, but they matched the scarf that you gifted me from (ehm ehm) PARIS so well. Also, they were on sale. That's miracle #3.

Faux-to Shoot Continues

Skirt: Thrifted, Sweater: Anthropologie, Belt: Jcrew, Shoes: F21, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelet: Juicy Couture Charm Bracelet, Necklace: F21

Let me tell you guys about this red skirt. Because I just can't keep it in...I paid a lovely $1.99 for it. Bev and I went to a Savers by my parents house (deeeeep in the 'burbs) and I found this beauty in perfect condition, and it feels like 100% wool. How could I not love it?! Midi skirts are my friends and even though some may say that they aren't for shorter ladies like myself...I don't really care. At all. Because I love them and they make me happy! I will be busting out with this skirt in NYC as soon as we exit the 40's (which looks like it'll be happening tomorrow)

Goodbye winter, was nice knowing ya!

Real Life Problems Part 2

So Evelyn and I did a faux-to shoot in a magical place informally called THE DUMP. It's a typical Bay area spot, lots of hills, lots of sky, sunlight and lots of random people and smells. And its magical.

Here is one of the outfits I wore (and one that Bev wore):

Shirt: F21, Jacket: Thrifted, Skirt: Thrifted, Necklace: F21, Bag: Thrifted Coach, Belt: gift from Bevelicious, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelet: Juicy Couture Charm Bracelet, Sunglasses: cheapie ones from a random place, Shoes: Zaras

Remember the skirt that I was fake shopping in this post? Yep, I real shopped it. And I love it and can't wait to wear the heck out of it come spring/summer.
p.s. these pictures were taken to the tune of the one and only Janet Jackson. Early 2000's anyone?

Hot pink and tweed

Well bobo, it way way too much fun photoshooting at the dump with you. Random poo smells + rabid ferrets running around = real people shit.
